She\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e is a self-taught figurative and abstract painter known for her portraits and statement pieces. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eA storyteller at heart, McLean's paintings are narratives of her own journey and psyche, and influenced by the stories of famous literary heroines. Sensual, spiritual, and greatly inspired by the Hero's Journey, her pieces often follow a protagonist, Every Woman; her birth, suffering, contradictions, growth, lovers, and ultimately, her death.
