He was raised the sixth of seven sons in the small Pennsylvania town of Canonsburg, which is located a few miles south of Pittsburgh. He earned his first private commission while still in high school. After graduating with a degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1982, he moved to Southern California to pursue opportunities as an artist. By working in many mediums and \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003evenues but always staying true to his “hands\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e-\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eon” et\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ehic, Pecharka continually strives to develop his essential core skills as a traditional Fine Arts artist.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ePecharka \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003epaints from photographs from his (and friend’s and family’s) travels in the United \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eStates, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. He considers public and private \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ecommissions and offers to his art patrons’ paintings of their travel memories. He sculpts using \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eoil-based clay, which is then bronzed at a foundry.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ePecharka is not only an artist, but he is a writer as well. He has written essays, short stories, and a book of poetry. He enjoys traveling, reading classic literature, and watching old movies.
